THE ASSOCIATION
Comité Devoir de Mémoire, guardian of Fort-de-France's heritage
The association « Comité Devoir de Mémoire » has, for several years, brought together residents of Fort-de-France committed to safeguarding, studying and passing on the memorial heritage of the city. Working hand in hand with SERMAC and local cultural actors, it strives to make visible the places that carry a collective history.
Mémoires Nomades is the digital outcome of this commitment: an open, multilingual and durable tool, designed to grow over the years and welcome every memorial site of the city. The association also runs activities on the ground — guided tours, school workshops, intergenerational gatherings — to keep memory alive beyond the screen.
Support, join, pass it on
Comité Devoir de Mémoire is a non-profit association, sustained by the volunteer commitment of its members and the support of its institutional partners. Joining means becoming part of a community that acts concretely to preserve and pass on the memory of Fort-de-France — and helps new memorial sites enrich Mémoires Nomades.
